Executive Chef Erik Skaar opened Vann in August, 2019 to critical acclaim. Vann was a wonderful surprise in the unlikely setting of a former BBQ joint in Spring Park. The food and service was absolutely excellent. That said, the wine and menu list could both use an addition of broader choices at more practical price-points. Also, the atmosphere is spare and lacks intimacy.

When the old Tonka BBQ in Spring Park closed, I rather assumed it would turn into another quick take-out place, poised to feed to lake-lifers a quick bite. I couldn't be more happy to be more wrong.
